The problem with other auction apps
Every other Shopify auction app has the same broken ending. The auction ends, and you become a collections agent.
A bidder wins, then disappears. You send a draft order by hand and hope the payment lands. Usually it does not.
The card declines. The buyer is unreachable. You relist the same product, run the same auction and lose the same week, over and over.
Competitors and bots place bids they never intend to honor, just to disrupt your auction. No card on file means no accountability.
whapify ends all three with one rule: no card, no bid.
How whapify works
Built natively on Shopify Payments. No Stripe sidecar, no redirect, no draft orders. The bidder's card is on the hook from the moment they bid.
A customer places a bid. Their card is vaulted through Shopify's customer API.
The bid amount is held through Shopify's Payment Sessions API. Funds are reserved. Held, not charged.
The previous hold releases instantly. A new hold authorizes on the new bidder's card. Repeat until the clock runs out.
The winner's hold is captured automatically. Every losing hold releases. Nobody to chase, nobody waits.
A real Shopify order lands in your admin, on the same payout schedule as every other sale on your store.
Payment captured automatically

Same payout schedule as every other order on your store.
Card networks honor holds for 7 days. On longer auctions whapify re-authorizes the leading bidder's card on a rolling basis so the hold never expires before the auction ends.
How whapify compares
Other apps run the bidding and hand you the collections. whapify holds every bid, captures the winner and creates the order.

The Power Auction unlock
You don't have to be an auction store to use whapify. Every Shopify merchant has last-unit items. Power Auction turns them into real-time pricing data, automatically.
Power Auction watches every SKU. The moment stock drops to 1, that product page turns into a live auction starting at your listed price.
Customers tell you exactly what they would have paid. You discover the real market value of every last unit.
Want to schedule a special auction event? Run it by hand any time. Power Auction handles the long tail in the background.

Why we built this
Every Shopify auction app I tried made me a collections agent. The bidder wins, the bidder ghosts, and I'm sending draft orders and chasing buyers like it's 2014. We built whapify so the auction is the close. The bidder's card is held the moment they bid, captured when the auction ends, and a real Shopify order shows up in the admin. No invoicing. No chasing. No no-pays.

Four guarantees. No asterisks.
Nothing to subscribe to. Nothing to maintain. Power Auction is a single toggle.

If a hold fails, you keep the inventory. No charge, no refund, no friction.
whapify runs as a theme app extension. Remove the app and the buttons vanish, with no leftover code on your store.
Free to install. Pay only when an auction wins. No card required.

Frequently asked
Nine answers here. The full list is on the FAQ page.
No. Power Auction starts every auction at your exact listed price. The only direction a bid can move is up. There is no scenario where whapify closes a sale below the price you set in Shopify.
No. Turn Power Auction on once. Every SKU that drops to 1 unit lists itself as an auction. You can also schedule manual auctions for specific products whenever you want.
Their hold releases instantly. They are never charged. whapify only captures the winner's card.
whapify runs on Shopify Payments. Card data never touches our servers. PCI compliance is inherited from Shopify. Every hold uses the same fraud signals Shopify already applies to checkout.
Card networks honor holds for 7 days. For auctions longer than that, whapify quietly re-authorizes the leading bidder's card on a rolling basis so the hold never expires before the auction ends.
Exclude collections, tags or specific SKUs from Power Auction with a single tag or rule. Anything excluded behaves like a normal Shopify product.
On the same payout schedule as every other Shopify Payments order. whapify creates a real Shopify order when the auction ends. There is no separate ledger, no separate payout and no waiting.
All of them require you to send a draft order to the winning bidder by hand and then chase payment. whapify is the only Shopify auction app that holds every bid and captures the winner the second the auction ends. No manual invoicing, ever.
Yes. whapify runs as a theme app extension on Online Store 2.0, so it inherits your theme's fonts, colors, spacing and buttons. No theme code is modified. Uninstall and the blocks disappear cleanly.
Install whapify. Turn on Power Auction. The winning bid captures itself. You only pay us when an auction wins money you wouldn't have made otherwise.
